This 3-level single family home (now 4 levels!) sits across the street from Windansea Beach in La Jolla. The owner wanted to create a rooftop view deck in addition to fully renovating the exterior, replacing windows, adding a new entrance with a lift and slide door system, and creating a downstairs outdoor living area with large custom hot tub, built in BBQ and a fire pit.
The added roof deck meant removing the existing roof and creating a new roof that encompassed the view deck, outdoor kitchen, staircase and glass wall adjacent to the outdoor staircase to maximize light and create a contemporary look. Extensive tile work on exterior, staircase and outdoor patio. The custom designed floating rooftop deck was built using Ipe Wood to ensure longevity and durability.
